Player 3 would be entitled to raise to $140 (after calling $40, the pot would contain $100, thus he may raise $100). Any player may also raise less than the maximum so long as the amount of the raise is equal to or greater than any previous bet or raise in the same betting round. Please understand that the above was a simple example to show you how pot limit texas hold'em works. However, many pot-limit games make exceptions to the above example. So you must be aware of the house rules before you sit down to play a pot limit game. Pot Limit Texas Hold'em is not for everyone. Many players enjoy No Limit Hold'em as their game of choice. Some even choose Limit Texas Hold'em but this is a slower game than Pot or No Limit Hold'em. My recommendation is to play both and discover for yourself what fits your style of play, your personality and your bankroll.
